where have all the reachsters gone? january 6, 2009
So, since no one really shows up anymore, and has not been showing up since around the start of December of last year, we've made an "executive decision" to just not have reach practices for a while.
The intermediate group (grade 9/10) will be meeting next week on Wednesday, January 13th in our usual reach room at fourth lunch. We may or may not take the entire lunch period, but do show up. If you can't be there, tell Anu or Meghan or Iain; you guys always see us in the hall... so just be a little proactive and inform us if you can't make it.
Reach practices will start after exams. We don't want to stress people out right now; use your lunches wisely. As much as you want to sit in the caf. and talk to your friends, again, be proactive. If there's something you don't understand in your classes, now is the time to speak to your peers and teachers about it. The day before exams, quite frankly, no one is going to care whether you know the slope equation or not. They'll all be stressed about their own exams that they won't be able to assist you to the best of their ability. This is so off-topic.
Gist of this message: meeting on Wednesday, January 13th (that's next Wednesday) on fourth lunch. Be there. And tell us if you're going to skip.

afterschool october 28, 2009
The intermediate Reach team will meet afterschool on Monday November 2nd and Tuesday November 3rd in room 119 (our regular Reach room).
We plan to go till about 5:00 PM on both days; please arrange for rides.
The reason we have to do this before we form teams is to evaluate Reach students who aren't able to practice with us because they don't have our lunch (fourth).
Here is who we're expecting on both days, from 3-5 PM:

Practices are every fourth lunch in room 119 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Remember, we're keeping track of who answers what, and how many, pay attention to your general surroundings... you never know what whacky, somewhat useless facts may just help us win a game one day.
And, ATTENDANCE COUNTS! Be at all of our scheduled meetings, and if you can't make it, let one of the soph. students (Anu, Gautham or Iain) or Mr Kiraly know beforehand. You don't have to be present at our optional meetings because, well, they're optional (unless otherwise noted).

Practices will be held three - four times a week for everyone on fourth lunch. If you do not have fourth lunch, please speak to Gautham, Anu or Mr Kiraly for alternate arrangements. Most of the students that came out on fourth lunch have indicated that they are able to stay afterschool sometimes, and as we get closer to the games, afterschool practices (around once - twice a week) may be an option.
Meet in the resource room on Monday October 5th at fourth lunch (12:26 PM) for a lunch practice run by Iain.

first meeting october 2, 2009
This year's first official meeting for Humberview's Intermediate Reach For The Top team was held on second, third and fourth lunches today (Friday, October 2nd).
We are proud to welcome many new faces ( Meghan Jessica Aditya Aaron Joseph Devin John ) as well as ones from the previous years ( Iain Gautham Bobby Michael Rashmi Shivani Anu ). Our coach will be Mr Kiraly, who most of you have met.
For anyone (both in and not in the enhanced program) who would like to be part of the Intermediate (grade 9 and 10) or Senior (grade 11 or 12) Humberview Reach teams but was not able to make it out to the meeting, please let Mr Kiraly know; you can find him in room 118, or in the resource room, or in the special education [orange] office.
